  • I am Sara Pearcy ~ a Brisbane based photographer and mother of five young children. Although this blog is named after my photography business, it is also an insight into my personal and family life. I love to capture the every day, beautiful moments that occur, often taken for granted... moments that we see, but are gone again in the blink of an eye... moments we think we will never forget.

    I am a proud member of the Australian Community of Child Photographers and I teach Photography and Photo Enhancement classes through Point Shoot Play.

    ACOCP Point.Shoot.Play.

    I am a Full Accredited Member of the Australian Institute of Professional Photography.

The first day of Spring is pouncing on us tomorrow and I’m thinking…  Christmas!!   The next three months are going to be more and more busy, leading up to the Festive Season, so I’m planning our Sassi Photography Christmas Mini Sessions now.

The 30 minute Christmas Mini Sessions will be held on Sunday 31st October and Monday 1st November.  There will be limited sessions available and they get booked very quickly!  Sessions will take place at the Camp Hill Studio with the option of a Christmas theme to the image, or a family (non-seasoned) theme.  Pets are welcome!

One 30 minute session
25 professionally printed, personally designed, photo greeting cards (with envelopes)
          – {additional cards available for purchase in lots of 25}
One 8×10 matted print
Two 5×7 matted prints

Only $475  !!

10% of all sales will be donated to my passion – the Australian Community of Child Photographers (ACOCP) - who need funds throughout the year.  What better time to be thinking of the benefitting babies, children and families than Christmas time?

Bailey || Brisbane Children Photographer

Bailey brought his Mum and Dad to the Studio for a photoshoot.  Unfortunately, his teeth were bothering him, so we let in and will finish this session another time soon.  Get ready to see more of this little cutie!!

Model Student || Brisbane Seniors Photography

Sassi Photography is ecstatic to announce the official launch of MODEL STUDENT!

Model Student is the brand name / business for the High School Seniors work I have been doing with Mel Mielekamp of Meloo Photography.  We have been building our portfolio for a while and today is the day to celebrate it all coming together!

Sassi Photography runs Model Student Southside.

Meloo Photography runs Model Student Northside.

Together we post our images on the Model Student Blog.

Aimed at High School Seniors and those wishing to celebrate the milestone of finishing high school, Model Student captures you as you are.  Keep an eye on the Model Student blog for some fabulous senior sessions from the past few weeks!

WAC First Birthday Circus || Brisbane Commercial Photographer

One of my favourite places in Brisbane just celebrated their first birthday.  The Woolloongabba Antique Centre on Wellington Rd (the Gabba) is the biggest and best of its kind in Brisbane.  (Yes, better than my old favourite haunt in Paddington!)

The entire place oozes retro, disco, shoo-wop and nostalgia.  The staff are usually dressed up, the music is funky and not-in-vogue (the first time I went there, it was all fifties music and it had me bopping down the aisles) and the merchandise is varied.  I get a kick out of seeing many things I grew up with – my favourite being a strangely-shaped bowl being sold as a ‘lolly bowl’, which I destinctly remember as a funky glass ashtray from my childhood!

Now the girls have been bopping away at the Gabba for a year, so threw a fabulous Circus Carnival to celebrate.

 Of course, you need to see a few images of inside the store, too!!  GREAT place to shop for funky flapper-to-retro clothes, too!!

 Make sure you go and check it out!
xx S.

PS.  They have a great coffee shop in the front section too!  Enjoy!

I’m in Love || Brisbane Baby Photographer

I have been so busy with clients and editing, I have once again neglected my blog.  Be assured I have some great images and shoots to share with you soon.  There’s also that exciting announcement that has been in the making for a while!!  Stay tuned!

I am SO in love with this little guy.  This is my Daniel, growing up fast!

Grace & Reuben || Brisbane Family Photographer

What a fun family!  Thank you for inviting me to your home!

I had SO many gorgeous shots that I found it difficult to pick a few favourites for the blog!

Thanks again, Leica!

Olive || Brisbane Newborn Photographer

A very warm welcome to Olive, little sister to Daisy.  Olive did VERY well in the studio, given that my little baby heater burnt out and Olive wasn’t snug and warm for the entirity of the shoot.

Olive with the Gradum Gypsies canvas…

Big sister Daisy is going to be so helpful!

Annaliese, Claudia & Gemma || Brisbane Family Photographer

Ah, girls.  I love little girls.  I love the way they see things and I love their pretty, dainty ways.  These three little girls were an absolute joy!

Yes, these eyes really are this amazing!

Love you all.

Riley || Brisbane Newborn Photographer

I’ve spent the last month watching each member of my family get hit by the various colds and tummy bugs, only to then finally get sick myself!  I’m a tad behind in blogging, sorry!

Sweet little Riley visited the studio late May.  He has such a serious little face.

Welcome to the world, Riley!

When Artists Get Together || Brisbane Newborn Photographer

I have been SO keen to share this collaboration with you and now is my chance!

Earlier this year, Sassi Photography commissioned The Gradum Gypsies to create a HUGE work of art for my newborn photography!  The idea is to photograph newborns in front of it, then print a new canvas with the baby at life size.  Imagine having this amazing work of art on your wall with your baby at the actual size they were when the image was taken!

Riley is our first Gradum Gypsy/Sassi baby…

I just received the new ‘Riley’ canvas this morning and it is sensational!!

Check out The Gradum Gypsies’ Etsy store!  Ngaire Bartlam & Jill Geraghty-Groves are an artistic storm!!
xx S.

PS. Ngaire & Jill – you have to tell me what ‘a string of wampum’ is!  lol
